PHOTOGRAPHY

& VIDEO PRODUCTION

Hi, I'm Steve. Since 1980 I have been involved in photography ( yes, I remember film ). I began as a wedding and portrait photographer, later moving on to shooting sporting events and most recently becoming interested in a technique known as I.C.M. ( intentional camera movement ). Combining a slow shutter speed with the movement of the camera and/or the subject, can at times create an unexpected and fascinating image. Up until this point my I.C.M. photography has included mostly nature and live music. I am however, always on the lookout for other subjects. If you are interested in adding I.C.M. to your photography I will be sharing some of the tips and tricks that I have learned over the years. I will go into more detail on the blog page if you are interested in giving I.C.M. a try.

My son Clay has recently begun his journey as an image maker, doing video and photography and graphic design for local musicians. I am so very proud of his work and will be sharing it on this site as well. Thanks for checking out our site. Feel free to contact Clay or myself with any questions or comments you may have.

My goal, using this technique ( I.C.M. ), is to make a photograph that looks like music sounds. To capture, in an image, the movement and energy of a musician and his chosen instrument. Maybe, Just maybe, a photo you can almost hear.

Music

More I.C.M. this time with the beauty of nature as my subject. Above is my impression of fall in Northwest Washington. The leaves hang on as long as they can, but eventually the cold and the wind get them all. Until spring of course, when it starts all over again.

Nature

Other Stuff

Ok, so not everything I shoot is I.C.M. Sometimes I actually shoot with my shutter speed at a more conventional 1/250 of a second. Here are a few shots that would be considered " more normal " . These are some that my best friend Tom actually likes. He won't even look at the swirling, blurry S*** as he calls it. Stuff maybe, yeah that's it, swirling, blurry, stuff. I hope you enjoy the photos that Tom likes.
